JANE BARTLE-WILSON

Jane Bartle-Wilson is a coach and instructor from Yorkshire (UK) who teaches riders and horses throughout the world. She usually visits us twice a year – in spring and autumn.

During her training sessions here and in Lipe, she shares her extensive experience and everyone is excited by her approach.

Jane’s coaching method is unique and highly successful. She has an incredible feeling for both the horse and the rider. She quickly identifies deficiencies, problems and mistakes and most importantly she’s able to explain them and demonstrate solutions to riders, so they can progress rapidly. Jane’s infectious good humour and positive attitude contribute to the wonderful experience of riding under her direction.

Jane believes training should be horse-friendly. Her sensible approach helps horses accept and obey riders both on the ground and in the saddle. Exercises are designed to deepen the understanding between horse and rider.

Jane is, together with her brother Christopher, head of the Yorkshire Riding Centre, where she’s the main coach and instructor. She travels a lot, because she educates riders and horses worldwide. She was a member of the British dressage team from 1982 to 1987 and the national champion in dressage from 1983 to 1986. In 1984 she attended the Olympic Games in Los Angeles with the horse Pinocchio. Her biggest success came in 1986, when she won the silver medal in the free form to music in Toronto.

She’s been an excellent coach since the nineties. She prepared riders for the Olympic games and other important competitions such as Badminton, Burghley or Bramham. Between 1993 and 2000 she was head of the British dressage team at the Olympics, World and European Championships.
